Below are a couple tools I’ve built with the community over the years. What started as solving BMW problems—and specific E46 problems—expanded to encompass other makes, models, and generations over time. I’ll continue to update this page as I consolidate resources into a central place.

Temperature Gauge Buffer Reprogramming

The temperature gauge on the E46 (and other similar generation years) has a built-in buffer where the needle will remain fixed in the 12 o’clock position between 75°C and 115°C. Due to the increased risks in the event of overheating or a soft-failing thermostat, this tool aids in reprogramming the temperature gauge to more accurately reflect engine temps.

This Temperature Gauge Hex Generator has been used by E38, E39, E46, and E53 owners, along with other chassis over the years. It’s a hex generator that translates the string from P.A. Soft and displays the corresponding temps. It will also convert the temperature ranges you provide back into the appropriate hex format.

Please read the original discussion thread on E46Fanatics to better understand how the tool can be used before downloading.

BMW PNPC (Part Number Price Comparison)

One of my earliest projects was a price comparison tool that would compare prices across 40+ European parts vendors and forum classifieds. It offered enhanced search functionality for Genuine, OE, and OEM parts and helped streamline much of my early DIY research and part shopping experiences.

What originally started with BMW parts expanded to encompass other European makes, and the project created some wonderful opportunities over the years. While the site is no longer actively maintained, it’s been a pleasure collaborating with folks throughout the community. The site is linked here for posterity.

For anyone interested in future project evolutions and updates, you can keep an eye on www.partbreak.com.
